The first 10 years

SunTechnics has a proud history of innovation, anticipating the needs of its diverse customers and often reinventing itself as it enters new markets and technologies.  As one of the fastest growing companies in the world, SunTechnics’ heritage reflects not only the development of international markets, but breakthrough technologies and business strategies.

From a German to a European Company
In 1996 SunTechnics was founded by Hans-Martin Rüter as a solar company offering turn-key solutions in Germany, the world's leading renewable energy market. SunTechnics has grown rapidly in Germany and spread throughout Europe where SunTechnics has entered markets in Switzerland, Austria, Luxembourg, Italy, Portugal and Spain. SunTechnics has leveraged its success in Germany to become a major player in these markets.

From a European to a Global Player
In recent years, SunTechnics widened its business focus from Europe to global markets, having expanded into North and South America and Asia. After very successful market entries in the USA, India, South Korea and Singapore we still see ourselves only at the starting point of our global expansion strategy.

We started as a company offering photovoltaic systems to our customers. As we broadened our geographical reach selling PV, we have also diversified technologically, developing expertise in other renewable energy technologies such as Solar Thermal, Solar Cooling, Off-grid and Hybrid Solutions, as well as Wind. Having built strong expertise in these different technologies, we see ourselves now as a comprehensive renewable energy company and can offer our customers customized solutions best suited for all their energy needs.
