Renewable energy has many benefits that positively impact you – the consumer and the environment we live in.
Soaring fuel costs, global warming and fast depletion of fossil
fuel resources has signaled a growing demand for renewable energy
sources - the sun, the wind and biomass - across the world,
as they are reliable, economical and efficient in the long run.
For the consumer, a renewable energy option from SunTechnics offers
many advantages such as

Significant savings in fuel and electricity cost in the long run |
 |
A chance to actively promote the use of clean, emission free power technology |

The Indian Scenario
India is today the fourth largest wind power generator in
the world, with an installed capacity of around 7,100 MW.
It is the second largest in the world in biogas power generation,
with an installation base of 3.9 million.
But surprisingly, India's current installed capacity of renewable
energy is only around 10,400 MW – a mere 8% of the country's total
generation capacity. Capacity
versus utility...
The Indian Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) has set
targets to increase installed generation capacity significantly
by the year 2012. Plans in the pipeline include:
 |
 |
30 million households to have improved cook stoves |
 |
12 million family-size biogas plants to be set
up |
 |
1500 solar photovoltaic plants |
 |
2000 biomass gasifier-based power plants |
 |
1000 small hydro power plants |
 |
2 million solar home systems |
 |
5 million square metres of collector area for low-temperature solar water-heating systems |
 |
Installation of 1000 medium-temperature, solar-concentrator-based solar process heating systems |
|
All these measures would ensure that renewable sources of
energy would contribute more than 10% to the capacity addition
of 120,000 MW by the year 2012.
